Spirit Driven, one of the Singing Ministries here
at People of Hope, is a fun group of
male singers. We practice on Thursday evenings at People of Hope, from
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, (or so!) Directed by Pianist--Marti Riley--we sing and
share primarily Christian Contemporary, Gospel, and "good old hymns". We
practice and sing from September through May.
Love to sing? Love to worship God through song? Love to sing AND worship God through song? Spirit Driven might be just what you're looking for! Spirit Driven's mission is to share God's
gift of music with others, using the talents God has given each of
us. Spirit Driven has been singing at Assisted Living Homes, Churches,
Group Homes, and Nursing Homes in Rochester and the surrounding communities
for nearly a decade. Spirit Driven has also
sung at Hope Lodge, the Transplant for Life Houses and the Ronald McDonald
House, in Rochester. We sing holiday songs and ring bells for the
Salvation Army and we've sung at Apache Mall.
The Holy Spirit moved us a couple of years ago to
develop a Service of Texts and Songs, where the Biblical Text for each song we
sing is read before we sing it. We've shared this Service at various
churches in Southeastern Minnesota. God is good all the time . . . All the
time, God is good!! Check us out some Thursday evening. Join your
voice with ours as we sing to our God, as well as for our God.
We regularly thank God for the harmonies and melodies Spirit Driven is
able to express singing God's songs. Your voice could be another to add to
the Praise!!
