SECOND ANNUAL POH SUMMER CAMPOUT— The Campout at Harvest Farm Campground will be July 7-9. You can learn more about the campground by visiting their website: www.wecamp.com or by checking out the information on the Opportunities Board. Sign up for one night or both nights, or just for the day on Saturday if camping is not your thing! Saturday late afternoon will feature worship time with communion followed by a potluck supper and your favorite meat-on-a-stick cooked over the campfire. Please sign up on the Opportunities Board if you plan to attend, and make your own reservations at the campground by calling (563) 883-8562. Be sure you mention you are with the People of Hope Church group....

SECOND SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH-Member Missionaries gather to communicate with our sister parish, ACOMUJERZA, through Skype video c hat. This past Saturday, we learned that ACOMUJERZA recently finished a large project, sewing over 600 uniforms for a school district.  They are taking a much deserved rest while the fabric ships for the next order of 600 uniforms. They have a new store, and renovations inside are complete. They are raising funds for installation of a roof over their kitchen space, which currently operates in the outdoor courtyard.  El Salvador is currently in the rainy season, and many people are afflicted with upper respiratory infections in conjunction with the change of season and warm, damp climate. POSTPONED TO TUESDAY, JULY 18— The Books and Brew crew will be reading and discussing “The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World” by the Dalai Lama, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and Douglas Abrams. The book is available at most retail book sellers; anyone interested is invited to join. Meeting at Beetles Bar and Grill, 7p.
